OUR POLICIES

Transparent policies for your peace of mind. These policies are subject to change — please contact us if you have any questions.

Studio code of conduct

Studio code of conduct

Zenland is a small teaching studio. A few simple rules keep it a good place to learn for everyone.

Massage is a professional practice

Zenland teaches massage as a professional skill. All classes are non-sexual, non-therapeutic (in the medical sense), and conducted with the professionalism you would expect from any wellness practice. Draping (covering with a towel or sheet) is used at all times when working on the torso, and the client is only ever undraped in the area currently being worked on.

Any behavior — from a student or from a training partner in a small-group class — that crosses the boundary into anything sexual, coercive, or disrespectful will end the class immediately, with no refund, and permanent removal from Zenland.

Consent and communication

Every class involves touch. In small-group classes, you will work on each other under Wen's supervision. Before every session, Wen and your partner will check in about pressure, comfort, areas that are off-limits (recent injuries, tender spots, personal preferences). If at any point during a class you want the pressure to change or a technique to stop, say so — clearly and immediately. Learning to communicate about touch is part of learning to give massage well.

Hygiene

  • Arrive freshly showered.
  • Trim your fingernails short — long nails scratch, even accidentally.
  • No jewelry on your hands or wrists during class (rings and bracelets snag on skin and clothing).
  • Wear clean, comfortable clothing you can move in.
  • Zenland provides freshly laundered towels, sheets, and warm oil for every session.

Timeliness

Classes start on time and end on time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, the class may need to be shortened (or, in extreme cases, treated as a no-show) so the following class can start on time. If you know you'll be late, message Wen as soon as possible.

Photography and recording

No photos or video during class without Wen's explicit permission. This protects the privacy of everyone in the room. If you'd like a photo of yourself and Wen at the end of a class, just ask — she's happy to oblige.

Bringing things up

If something in a class didn't work for you — the pace, a partner's approach, a technique that felt wrong — bring it up. Directly to Wen after class, or by email to [email protected] if that's easier. Zenland gets better the more students tell Wen what could be better.

Who runs Zenland

Zenland is operated by [TODO — legal entity name], registered in Belgium under enterprise number [TODO — BCE / KBO number], VAT number [TODO — BEXXXX.XXX.XXX]. The data controller for personal information collected via zenland.health is that same entity.

Contact for privacy matters: [email protected].

What personal data Zenland collects

  • When you fill in the contact form or book a class: your name, email, phone (optional), and the content of your message.
  • When you complete a payment: your billing name and address (required for a VAT-compliant invoice), and payment references from Mollie. Zenland does not store your card or bank details — those are handled by Mollie under their own privacy terms.
  • When you visit the website: basic technical logs (browser, IP address, pages visited) for site performance and security. If you consent to marketing cookies, additional visit-tracking data is stored to improve future recommendations.

How Zenland uses your data

  • To reply to your inquiry.
  • To confirm and manage your bookings.
  • To issue you a VAT-compliant invoice for any payment.
  • With your consent, to send you occasional newsletters and course announcements. You can unsubscribe from any of these at any time using the link in every email.

Your personal data is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Third-party services Zenland uses

Zenland uses a small set of trusted services to run the business. These services process personal data on Zenland's behalf under standard EU processor agreements:

  • Cal.com — booking management.
  • Chatwoot — live chat and email support.
  • Mollie — payment processing.
  • Brevo — outbound email delivery.
  • Mautic — marketing automation (if you consent to marketing cookies).
  • Directus and Zenland's own self-hosted infrastructure — content and CRM storage, hosted in the EU.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal data Zenland holds about you.
  • Correct any inaccurate data.
  • Ask Zenland to delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements — invoices must be kept for 10 years under Belgian tax law).
  • Withdraw consent to marketing at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (autoriteprotectiondonnees.be).

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. Zenland will respond within 30 days.

  • Lead / inquiry data: kept for 3 years after your last interaction, then deleted.
  • Booking records: kept for as long as needed to manage your bookings + 3 years, then deleted or anonymized.
  • Invoices: kept for 10 years (Belgian legal requirement).
  • Marketing consent records: kept for as long as you remain subscribed + 3 years after unsubscribe (to prove consent history).

Certification and professional recognition

Certification and professional recognition

What Zenland provides

Zenland teaches real, professional-level massage technique. What it does not provide is a state-recognized certification or diploma.

If you complete a pack of classes, you can request a written attestation from Wen confirming the number of hours of training, the techniques covered, and the dates. This is a personal reference — useful for a CV or a portfolio — but it is not a legal qualification.

Practicing massage professionally in Belgium

If your goal is to practice massage as a paid professional in Belgium, you should be aware:

  • Wellness / non-medical massage is generally not a regulated profession in Belgium, meaning anyone can offer massage services as long as they respect general commercial rules (VAT registration, insurance, hygiene). Zenland's training gives you the technique. You would still need to register your business independently.
  • Medical / therapeutic massage (e.g. kinesitherapy) is a regulated profession requiring a state-recognized diploma. Zenland does not train toward this, and no amount of Zenland classes qualifies for medical practice.
  • Insurance and reimbursement: most Belgian health insurers reimburse only massage provided by registered kinesitherapists. Wellness-massage practitioners typically do not qualify. If reimbursement matters to your future clients, factor this in when planning your business.

The honest picture

Zenland exists to teach massage well. If certification and professional registration matter for your goals, the Zenland technique training is one part of the puzzle — the hands — and you will need to combine it with the business, legal, and insurance side separately.

If you're not sure whether Zenland's training fits your plans, book a discovery call and Wen will talk it through with you.

Refund policy

Refund policy

Single classes

  • Refundable in full if cancelled 48 hours or more before class start. See the cancellation policy for details.
  • Not refundable within 48 hours.

Class packs (5 or 10 classes)

  • Unused packs: if you have not yet used any class in a newly purchased pack, you can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase. This is Belgian consumer law (the standard cooling-off period) and applies whether or not you signal a specific reason.
  • Partially used packs: the used classes are billed at the single-class price (not the pack per-class rate); the difference is refunded. For example, if you bought a 10-class private pack (€560, €56/class) and used 2 classes, you'd be billed 2 × €70 = €140 for the used classes and refunded €420.
  • Expired packs: small-group packs expire after 2 months (5-class) or 4 months (10-class). Classes not used before expiry are lost. If you expect not to be able to complete a pack in time, contact Wen before expiry to discuss options.

Refund timing

Refunds are processed within 10 business days to your original payment method. If the original payment was by Bancontact or card, the refund appears on your statement within 3–7 additional working days depending on your bank.

Refund method

Refunds are always returned to the payment method used at purchase. Cash refunds are not offered.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation policy

By the student

  • 48 hours or more before class start: free cancellation. If prepaid, full refund to your original payment method within 10 business days. If you cancelled a class from within a pack, the class is returned to your pack.
  • Less than 48 hours before class start: the class is charged as taken. Pack holders will have that class deducted from their pack.

Emergencies happen. If you have a genuine emergency inside the 48-hour window, contact Wen — a good-faith reschedule is always considered.

By Zenland

If Wen has to cancel a class for any reason (illness, venue issue, family emergency), you have two options:

  1. Full refund to your original payment method within 10 business days.
  2. Free reschedule to any available slot within 3 months.

If Zenland has cancelled the class, the class is not deducted from your pack regardless of notice period.

How to cancel

Email [email protected] with your booking reference (from your confirmation email) and reason for cancellation. You can also cancel or reschedule via the link in your Cal.com booking confirmation, up to 48 hours before the class.
